Costume parties are usually for kids.  But adults can have fun and wear silly costumes, too.  Costume party is not limited to Halloween.  You can also celebrate your birthday, anniversary or other special events with these costume party ideas.

• Hollywood Movie Party – have a glamorous red carpet event.  Your guests can do an impression of their favorite Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Cher or Elvis.  This is the right time for the women to wear those sexy chic dresses.  Men can be dashing and dapper in their tuxedos.

• Mexican Party – throw a unique fiesta and look hot in fancy sombreros and colorful ponchos while serving Margarita and Tequila to your amigos and amigas.

• Hawaiian Party – women can wear bikinis and grass skirts.  If you are daring then you can go with the coconut bras.  Men can wear polo with flower prints and beach shorts.  Don’t forget to put on your leis.

• ‘50s Party – rock and groove to the ‘50s.  Your male guests can wear tight v-neck muscle shirts, leather suede jackets, blue denim jeans and biker or hiking boots while your female guests can be in floral swing skirts, a-line dresses, stockings and petticoats, pencil-style outfits with boleros and roller skates.

• ‘80s Party – new wave and radical theme.  The ladies can do the Madonna look and wear fishnet stockings, black corset, black tulle skirt and high-heeled boots.  They can also go with oversized sweaters, leg warmers, vests and accessorize with bangle bracelets and chandelier earrings.  The guys can do the Miami Vice look which is an all-white suit and bright colored shirt underneath.  Or maybe do the Michael Jackson look by wearing thin white shirts and a leather jacket, high-waist jeans and white sneakers or moon boots.

• Masquerade Party – can be a Carnival, Mardi Gras or an old-fashioned Victorian Masquerade Party.  Ball gowns and tuxedos are the basic attire but the most important thing is the colorful and interesting masks that your guests will be wearing.
